I began Gospel Wine to write about my journey as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope you will enjoy connecting with me here! My name is Patricia and I’m blogging as I undergo the Lord’s sanctification process. This is primarily a place to record insights from Scripture, sermons, and other Christian resources. I pray this site will bring glory to the Lord–otherwise it is a wasted effort.
This site is for Christians and seekers alike. Some of the posts may be didactic in nature as I grow in Christ, as the Lord allows; however, I’m blogging more to learn than to teach.
As for the name? Wine represents the blood of Christ shed in His dying for the sins of the world. It also represents the abundant life and joy found in Christ alone.
Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. – Matt 26:26-28 ESV
As we live in a time of such grace and mercy, I wanted a site name that reflected the good news of Christ (“Gospel” means “good news”). I suppose I could have tried naming the site “Gospel Bread and Wine”, but this is more succinct. And easier to type! Also there is a real glut [no pun intended!] of food blogs out there!
Without the perfect obedience of Christ and His sacrifice, we would all be lost. But, God has been gracious and merciful to me in granting me repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21,Rom 2:4)
Thanks for stopping by!
Have you received His forgiveness?
